Ecobank Ghana and Bank of China sign partnership agreement

Ecobank Ghana and the Bank of China (BOC) have signed a partnership agreement to facilitate trade and investment between Africa and Asia.

With the agreement, Ecobank Ghana will open a dedicated BOC desk from September; the first Ecobank Group affiliate to do so.

Speaking at the launch in Accra, Ecobank's Group Executive Director of Corporate Banking Albert Essien said the agreement would allow the BOC to target their clients in Africa more effectively, while enabling Ecobank to expand its business in China.

Also speaking at the launch, BOC's General Manager of Financial Institutions Xu Chen said: “Today is a new start, and a good start suggests a half success [sic]. Africa's future is promising; the old generations have laid a solid foundation for our generation, and we will keep in the direction forward at a quicker pace.”
