Azerbaijan, Georgia and Romania to meet on joint gas project
According to an official statement from Azerbaijan's Ministry of Industry and Energy Azerbaijan's President, Ilham Aliyev, and his Georgian and Romanian counterparts are to meet in Baku in early September, to discuss gas supplies by the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania interconnection.
Azerbaijan, Romania and Georgia signed a memo on cooperation in the liquefied gas sector back in April. The summit in September is expected to conclude with the signing of the Baku declaration.
The meeting of the work groups will be held in Baku on 6th September for coordination of all necessary documents and the meeting on the level of energy ministers of the three countries will take place on 13th September. The Baku summit is expected to involve chairman of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barrosa, and the EU Energy Commissioner Gunter Ottinger.
